Maternal Interaction Boosts Preschoolers’ Digital Literacy Development

In a study of 514 Korean preschoolers and their mothers, home digital resources directly improved digital literacy, particularly when combined with mother–child digital co-use and rich verbal interaction. Verbal engagement emerged as a key mediator, emphasizing the role of dialogic parenting. These findings support the importance of equitable digital access and parent-focused strategies in building foundational digital skills in early childhood.
