A 35-year-old male has been admitted to the emergency ward due to severe breathlessness and generalized swelling. He has a history of experiencing starvation about two months ago, enduring a period of 5 to 6 days with minimal intake of both food and water. Prior to this, there were no reported instances of any medication use, diabetes mellitus, or hypertension. Upon examination, the patient exhibited lower lung crepitations, pitting edema, and pallor. Kindly suggest an appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
