A 53-year-old female patient reported experiencing chest pain, heaviness in the chest, and shortness of breath upon exertion. The diagnosis revealed severe mitral stenosis with atrial fibrillation. The 2D echocardiogram indicated severe left ventricular dysfunction (ejection fraction: 20-25%) with trivial mitral stenosis and trivial tricuspid regurgitation. Pulmonary artery hypertension was not observed. The prescribed treatment commenced with an intravenous injection of Heparin at a dosage of 3000 IU, administered once daily.
