A 72-year-old male presented to our clinic with complaints of swelling in the neck and a change in voice. The patient denied any history of breathlessness, weight loss, or fever. On clinical examination, a palpable mass was noted in the right lobe of the thyroid. An ultrasound of the neck was performed, which revealed mass lesions in the right lobe of the thyroid with a TIRADS-4 classification, suggestive of a neoplastic etiology. Additionally, a left cervical lymph nodal abscess with necrotic and reactive cervical lymphadenopathy was identified.
