acne

A 25 year old male came with the c/o itching and burning on his face since 2 mnths. He complained of pimples on his face, which would aggravate after consumption of oily food n smoking. Pt had a h/o smoking and smokes 3-4 cigarettes/day. Pt worked at a construction site where he was constantly subjected to dust and pollution.

 family history was not significant.

O/E: well circumscribed acne was seen which was yellowish green in colour. some areas showed acne amrks which had turned black and caused hollowness in the skin resembling a trough. pus discharge was observed in sites of active acne

Dx-acne vulgaris

Treatment?

Rx-pt was prescribed isotret 20mg od for 2 months and counselled about lifestyle changes. A session of peeling was done with salicylic acid which showed improvements after 4 weeks.

similarly subsequent sessions of peeling were scheduled followed by face prp.
