Anemia in Pregnancy

A 27-year-old pregnant woman presented to the Maternity and Child Unit (MCU) department for laboratory assessment. Upon physical examination, she exhibited signs of anemia. Her vital signs were within normal range, and no other abnormalities were noted in the physical examination. Laboratory studies revealed a low hemoglobin level of 7 g/dL, with MCH values of 60 and MCHC values of 18, raising suspicion of iron deficiency anemia. To address this condition, the patient underwent treatment with intravenous iron sucrose at a dosage of 200 mg administered over a 2-hour infusion period. Additionally, she was prescribed a daily oral intake of ferrous fumarate at a dosage of 30 mg per day. Kindly suggest your opinion on this case.
