A young unvaccinated child presents with fever, sore throat, barking cough & hoarseness for 5 days. Gram stain w/gram + pleomorphic bacillus. What is the likely diagnosis?

The likely diagnosis is bacterial croup caused by Corynebacterium diphtheriae.
