A 36-year-old female smoker who had been complaining of hoarseness for eight months. She had taken several courses of antibiotics for what was thought to be a URTI, but they did not affect her hoarseness. Hay fever and Type II diabetes were among her co-morbidities. The left vocal cord and the thickening of the ventricular band were discovered through flexible nasolaryngology. A small glottic region was suggested by microlaryngoscopy and biopsy. A biopsy of the left vocal cord revealed characteristics that included well-formed epithelioid granulomas, florid granulomatous inflammation, and sporadic multinucleated large cells (Figure). Her condition considerably improved after receiving systemic and inhaled corticosteroids.
