<p>A 59-year-old woman comes in for a lesion on her back to be evaluated. The patient has red hair, blue eyes, numerous additional skin growths, and fair skin. She denies having ever used indoor tanning beds or had a history of malignancy, including skin cancer. However, she acknowledges having suffered from severe sunburn multiple times as a child. A 2.0 by 2.8 cm hyperpigmented, slightly raised plaque with notched margins is discovered during a physical examination when seen through a dermatoscopy (Figure).</p>
