Metformin Induce Diarrhea

A 30-year-old male came to the emergency room with complaints of diarrhea for 6 times since 1 week ago. Complaints of diarrhea accompanied by flatulence and abdominal discomfort. The patient has a history of using metformin for weight loss. Physical examination: fully conscious, blood pressure 110/80 mmHg, HR: 101x/min, RR: 20x/min. abdominal examination revealed mild abdominal distension, tympanic, positive bowel noise. Management of this patient began with metformin discontinuation, attalpugite 2 tabs/liquid, probiotics 2 tablets per day, and sucralfate 3x15 ml.
