Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is most prevalent in Southeast Asian countries and China, with an incidence of 2.1 to 9.9 per 100,000. Gemcitabine plus cisplatin and PD-1 inhibitors have been the standard first-line treatment for metastatic or recurrent NPC. However, the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) retreatment remains unclear. Preclinical studies suggest that adding antiangiogenic agents may enhance ICI retreatment's efficacy. Camrelizumab (PD-1 inhibitor) combined with famitinib (antiangiogenic TKI) has shown promising antitumor activity and safety in a phase 2 study for recurrent/metastatic NPC patients who failed anti-PD-1-based therapy.
