As shown in the figure, a 25-year-old lady with a nevus of Ota on the left side of the face was treated with a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser. Six therapy sessions at 2- month intervals were performed in two receipts. The parameters of the first pass stood set with fluence ranging between 2.5 and 3.3 J/cm2 and with the frequency of 10 Hz and 6 mm spot size. The parameters of the second pass stood set with fluences between 5 and 7.6 J/cm2 with 10 Hz frequency and 4 mm spot size.
Before each therapy, a topical anaesthetic was used. For additional deduction of pain, cooling was also performed. Post-treatment care included the application of cream and sunscreen. The pigmented lesions were ultimately resolved after the last treatment with a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser.
