Oxytocin induced labour a...

A healthy, early-twenties pregnant woman who was gravida 2 para 0 had oxytocin used to induce labour at 41 weeks of pregnancy. During the pregnancy period, there were no recurrences. Continuous cardiotocography was encouraging and revealed no abnormal symptoms throughout labour. Since the labour was being stopped, vacuum extraction was required. The nuchal cord and true double umbilical cord knot were present when a male infant was born (figure). At minutes 1/5/10, the Apgar score was 8/8/9. Neonatal assistance was not necessary. The infant was healthy when released from the hospital two days after birth.
