Lady of 48years started complaining of pain over mandibular area of face after treated for lower two incisor tooth. OPG was advised.
Accidentally detected a defect or cyst like or lytic lesion over mandible near angle of mandible. What is this disease ??

Answer....A Stafne bone cavity is a cortical defect near the angle of the mandible below the mandibular canal. It is usually an incidental finding and represents a depression in the medial aspect of the mandible filled by part of the submandibular gland or adjacent fat.
