A 26- year-old female presented to our clinic with a painful right eye which was swollen shut. The patient is a wearer of contact lenses. The patient had slept in her contact lenses the previous night. She denied using water to clean or store her lenses and claimed to have changed her multipurpose solution on a nightly basis. She had no history of swimming or injury to the eye involving vegetation with contact lenses.

Her ocular and medical history was regular, and she denied either taking medication or having allergies. The slit-lamp evaluation revealed diffuse conjunctival injection and a minor circular epithelial defect with underlying stromal infiltration in the mid-periphery of the right eye. In addition, the patient had a trace anterior chamber reaction and small amounts of mucopurulent discharge.

The patient's skin was clear. The ulcer occurred round with no feathery borders or a ring shape, and the pain seemed proportional to the size of the disturbance. The patient was diagnosed with keratitis.
