A 70-year-old male presented with difficulty in getting up from a squatting position, which has been progressively worsening over the past 25 days. The patient was apparently asymptomatic before this time and has no history of difficulty in reaching for objects above the head. There is no history of radicular pain, difficulty in walking in the dark, washbasin ataxia, tripping, or buckling of the knee. The patient did have a recent history of fever with an upper respiratory tract infection eight days prior to the onset of these symptoms. What is further management?
