At 15 weeks gestation, a 34-year-old lady visits her physician complaining of increased pruritus that began seven weeks before. The pruritus affects the ankles and legs only. The patient has a 9-year history of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. Her liver function tests (LFT) have been high since the sickness, according to her. The lab tests for CMV, Hepatitis and EBV, were negative, and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency was positive. The diagnosis was confirmed as Intrahepatic cholestasis.
