A 23-year-old first-time pregnant woman with a low body mass index presented with severe hyperemesis gravidarum, resulting in a 5 kg weight loss. Despite receiving peripheral intravenous nutrition, her symptoms persisted. At 17 weeks and 1 day of pregnancy, she was diagnosed with zinc deficiency and dysgeusia. Treatment with zinc acetate dihydrate improved her symptoms, leading to increased oral intake and gradual alleviation of hyperemesis. She was discharged at 18 weeks and 2 days and later transferred to a local hospital at 30 weeks gestation with a normal prenatal check-up.
