A 40-year-old male with Type 2 DM for 8 years on OHA and scheduled for cholecystectomy in 5 days while taking Metformin 1.5 g, pioglitazone 15 mg, and Glimipiride 2 mg with FBS 145, PPBS 184, and HbA1c 8. Should OHA be continued till before the day of surgery or be converted to insulin now?

You can give Injection Lantus insulin before dinner and Metformin 1 gm in morning
