A 40-year-old woman presents with a history of migraines without aura that began in her 20s. Over the past few years, the frequency of her moderate to severe headaches has increased to once a week, with each episode lasting 1 to 2 days. Symptomatic treatments have been largely ineffective. She has tried various triptans, which provide temporary relief but the headaches return intensely approximately 12 hours after the initial dose, necessitating a second dose. She consumes caffeinated beverages only occasionally. Her past medical history is otherwise unremarkable. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. Neurological examination findings are normal. Kindly suggest approaches for managing this patient.
