A 46-year-old man with no significant medical background presented to our emergency room (ER) with sudden onset of right lower quadrant abdominal pain. He said that he was in good health and that he was awakened from sleep at around 03:00 with dull abdominal pain that was a 3 out of 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. He also had diarrhea as a side effect. The next morning, he went to an urgent care center and was promptly sent to the emergency room.
Investigations
A contrast-enhanced CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis was carried out as shown in the figures.
