A 24-year-old man with poorly controlled type 1 diabetes presented with bilateral progressive proliferative retinopathy in spite of several sessions of pan-retinal photocoagulation. His past medical history was unremarkable except for DM. No ophthalmic interventions, such as laser, intravitreal injections, or surgery, had been given prior to presentation. After one additional such session of PRP, he developed bilateral vision loss.
