IDA in 39 Year old

A 39-year-old woman with a history of multiple comorbidities, including severe asthma and other chronic conditions, presented with a baseline hemoglobin level of 7.5 g/dL (12.0-15.5 g/dL). She experienced persistent fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath. She also reported a history of menorrhagia and a vegetarian diet but denied any gastrointestinal symptoms. Physical examination revealed pale conjunctiva and mild tachycardia. Laboratory investigations revealed a mean corpuscular volume (MCV) of 76.2 fL (80-100 fL), serum iron level of 25 μg/dL (60-170 μg/dL), and total iron-binding capacity of 438 μg/dL (240-450 μg/dL), microcytic hypochromic red blood cells, and a 9.5 ng/mL serum ferritin (12-150 ng/mL) with normal vitamin B12 levels.
