In a routine corporate checkup i saw a 45 yr old male patient k/c/o DM since 8 years initially took tab metformin but eventually moved to homeopathy medicines , Today FBS :260, PPBS:350, HBA1C not tested and BP: 140/90 recorded on pre-consultation as well as post consultation day. I took a pause initially explained patient diabetes care and gave him an insight as it is a condition but can affect every organ if he doesn’t stick to a proper medicine course and keeps taking homeopathy medicines which i believe wont help him with the values given, and started him on Metformin and told him to review with Diabetologist. Sometimes such cases amuse me how patients are irresponsible with their own health and put their lives in danger.
