A 32-year-old man comes for evaluation of right shoulder pain that he has had for the past 3 weeks. He thinks that he injured it playing softball but does not remember a specific injury. There is no bruising or swelling. He gets pain in the joint on external rotation and abduction, but has preserved range of motion.
