With a completely edentulous maxilla and two canines on the mandible, an 85-year-old woman presented for a full-mouth restoration. She was referred by another dentist who had conducted several hopeless tooth extractions. The main complaint of the patient was a combination of an inability to chew effectively and an imperative desire for a mandibular prosthesis. The last two mandibular canines revealed good periodontal health with enough osseous support. The mandibular alveolar ridge showed moderate to severe signs of resorption without the existence of retentive undercuts. Stainless steel jewellery caused skin sensitivity in the patient and revealed that she had tested positive in the past for Ni and Cr to a patch test.
