Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) or pediatric inflammatory, multisystem syndrome (PIMS) emerged in the United Kingdom and the United States in April 2020 during a rise in COVID-19 cases. It is characterized by a hyper-inflammatory response affecting multiple organs. Treatment typically involves administering anti-inflammatory medications like steroids and intravenous immunoglobulins. While MIS-C is rare, it can be a serious condition in children and teenagers. Therefore, prompt diagnosis and treatment are crucial for favorable outcomes. In May 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) issued separate guidelines for diagnosing MIS-C.
