A 40-year-old woman who has been experiencing a rash for about a week comes in for evaluation. She expresses only minor itching and no pain. The patient claims that a similar rash has appeared every year. The previous eruptions started early to mid-spring and went away on their own after about two weeks. Upon examination, many erythematous papules and patches with minor induration are seen. She is unaffected by her palms and soles.
