ulcerated tongue

A 18 year old male pt reported with the c/o cracks in the tongue. he c/o food lodgement in the tongue and bad breathe. O/E fissures were found along the margins of the tongue. The food accumulation was observed in the fissures and there was noticeable halitosis. 

Dx: scrotal tongue

Treatment comprised of oral prophylaxis. Pt was advised to use a tongue cleaner twice a day and chlorhexidine mouthwash for 14 days to avoid halitosis.
