A Comparison of Neonatal Outcomes in Twins Conceived Spontaneously and through Medically Assisted Reproductive Technology

The study compared the neonatal outcomes of twins conceived spontaneously versus through medically assisted reproduction (MAR). Data from a single university teaching hospital between 1995 and 2019 was analyzed, and 2235 twin gestations were included. The primary outcomes were umbilical artery pH and Apgar scores. The results showed that the incidence of primary outcomes was comparable among the IVF, OI, and control groups, suggesting that neonatal condition at birth among MAR subgroups is similar to spontaneously conceived twins.
