Researchers have identified a reliable endoscopic landmark to locate the anterior ethmoidal artery (AEA) during sinus surgery. This landmark, a septation or ridge one step back from the frontal sinus's posterior table, consistently helps surgeons pinpoint the AEA's position. The landmark accurately identified the AEA in 97.3% of cases studied, providing a consistent guide regardless of anatomical variations. This discovery aims to improve surgical precision and reduce dependency on navigation systems.
