This cross-sectional study explored the relationship between activity impairment and salivary gland involvement in primary Sjogren's syndrome (pSS) for patient empowerment. The study included 86 pSS patients and gathered data through clinical examinations and questionnaires. The results showed that increased ESSPRI-Dryness scores and OHIP-14 scores were associated with poor WPAI activity impairment scores. Elevated ESSPRI-Fatigue scores and low U-SFR levels mediated the WPAI activity impairment. Additionally, ESSPRI-Pain scores were found to be a significant moderator for WPAI activity impairment in patients without hyposalivation. In conclusion, glandular involvement affected WPAI activity impairment through various factors.
