A Groundbreaking Model for Predicting Heart Failure Treatment Benefit

An exciting model, the LIFEtime‐perspective for Heart Failure (LIFE‐HF), has been developed to predict individual risk and treatment benefits for patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). While previous trials showed group-level effectiveness, the LIFE‐HF model considers individual differences. An interactive tool combines this model with trial data to help clinicians make personalized treatment decisions. In practice, a combined treatment of mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (MRA), sodium/glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, and angiotensin receptor–neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) was found to extend survival by an estimated median of 2.5 to 3.7 additional years. The LIFE‐HF model promises to revolutionize HFrEF management, enabling personalized medicine and informed decision-making for patients.
