The study revealed that 6.7% of Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL) patients (17,270/257,123) experienced recurrences. Interestingly, recurrence rates dropped with age but rose with increased recurrences over time. Notably, ankylosing spondylitis incidence increased, while type 2 diabetes mellitus, myocardial infarction, and hemorrhagic stroke decreased in those with SSNHL recurrence. The study suggests preventing recurrence for AS patients and immediately treating SSNHL symptoms.
