A Phase 3, Randomized Trial of Bulevirtide in Chronic Hepatitis D

Bulevirtide, a drug that prevents the entry of the hepatitis D virus (HDV) into liver cells, has shown promising results in a phase 3 clinical trial. The primary endpoint was achieved in a significant percentage of patients receiving bulevirtide, with a marked reduction in HDV RNA levels and normalization of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels, indicating improved liver function. Overall, these findings suggest that bulevirtide may be an effective treatment for chronic hepatitis D, offering hope for patients with this challenging condition.
