A Radiostereometric Analysis of Tendon Migration After Arthroscopic and Mini-Open Biceps Tenodesis: Interference Screw Versus Single Suture Anchor Fixation

A study aimed to compare postoperative biceps tenodesis (BT) migration between arthroscopic suprapectoral BT (ASPBT) and open subpectoral BT (OSPBT) techniques using different fixation methods. The study involved 115 patients with biceps tendinopathy. Interference screw (IS) fixation showed the least migration, with no difference between arthroscopic and open approaches. One suture anchor exhibited higher migration than IS at 1 week and 3 months postoperatively. Two-suture anchor fixation yielded greater migration at 1 week but not at 3 months. While few cases developed Popeye deformities with suture anchor fixation. IS fixation was most effective, while using two suture anchors reduced migration.
