A study of adverse maternal-foetal outcomes in nephrotic syndrome combined with preeclampsia

A recent study explores the intricate relationship between preeclampsia and nephrotic syndrome in pregnancy, providing insights into their overlapping symptoms and consequences. This research, which involved 90 pregnant women, uncovers that individuals experiencing both conditions encounter heightened risks of preterm birth, low birth weight, foetal distress, and foetal growth restriction. The study highlights a striking 8.25-fold increase in the risk of preterm birth, along with significant risks for other adverse outcomes in this combined scenario.
