A recent review of 41 studies on past epidemics, including SARS, Ebola, and others, reveals a persistent surge in stress, anxiety, and stigma. Misinformation has fueled discrimination, aggravating the situation. Learning from history, experts suggest combating misinformation and initiating mental health programs at both individual and community levels to alleviate the pandemic's psychological toll. The study sheds light on effective strategies to mitigate the long-term psychological impact of COVID-19.
