The urological workforce in the US is affected by limited abortion access, with female residency applicants avoiding states with restrictive laws and women urologists in these states considering leaving. The recent Dobbs v. Jackson ruling by the US Supreme Court has sparked debate, and the American Urological Association (AUA) was surveyed to understand urologists' opinions on this issue. The survey found that while 45% of respondents favoured the AUA developing positions on social issues such as abortion, women and young urologists were more likely to want the AUA to take a position and devote resources to this cause than older, male and retired respondents.
