The article discusses the link between vascular disease and accelerated biological aging, as well as genetic, lifestyle, biological, and environmental risk factors. Chronic kidney disease is used as a model for studying this process, and the cardiorenal syndrome describes the negative interplay between the kidney and cardiovascular system. Patients with this syndrome are subject to various emerging vascular risk factors, including inflammation, oxidative stress, and cellular senescence. Understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in uremic early vascular aging could lead to new pharmacological and nutritional interventions for preventing and treating early vascular aging in both CKD and the elderly population.
