Acute heart failure (AHF) encompasses various conditions caused by an acute trigger interacting with an individual's underlying cardiac health. Valvular heart disease (VHD) is frequently associated with AHF, which can result from acute stress on a chronic valvular lesion or a new significant valvular problem. However, assessing the severity of VHD and its correlation with symptoms in AHF patients is challenging due to fluctuating conditions and comorbidities. Evidence-based interventions for VHD in AHF are lacking, as severe VHD patients are often excluded from randomized trials. Current guidelines are vague for AHF patients with severe VHD. This statement aims to outline the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and treatment approach for AHF patients with VHD, despite limited evidence
