
An artificial intelligence tool called CHARM has shown promise in aiding doctors in the fight against aggressive brain tumors. Developed by researchers at Halvard Medical School, CHARM uses machine learning to quickly analyze images and identify the genetic profile of glioma tumors, a process that currently takes days or weeks. By providing rapid and accurate diagnoses, CHARM could improve patient outcomes and reduce the need for multiple surgeries. The tool can also distinguish between malignant and benign cells and determine the aggressiveness of a tumor. While further testing is required, CHARM represents a significant advancement in using AI to enhance cancer diagnosis and treatment.
