A study evaluated the effects of a 3-month almond-enriched diet (AED) versus a carbohydrate-rich snack diet (NFD) for weight and cardiometabolic outcomes. Both groups experienced weight loss during Phase 1 and Phase 2, with improvements in lean mass and various health markers. The AED group showed enhanced benefits in specific lipoprotein subfractions. This suggests that an energy-restricted AED supports weight loss and cardiometabolic health, potentially reducing cardiovascular risk.
