American Thoracic Society Identifies Urgent Need for Research on Cancer-Related Fatigue in Lung Cancer

The present study discusses cancer-related fatigue (CRF) as the most common symptom among cancer survivors and the multiple factors that contribute to its development and severity. It emphasizes the need for increased awareness and understanding of CRF in lung cancer survivors, who experience more frequent and severe symptoms than survivors of other cancers. The article outlines a multidisciplinary panel's review of the available literature on CRF in lung cancer survivors, and the use of a three-round modified Delphi process to prioritize research questions. The panel identified knowledge gaps and presented a prioritized research agenda to advance clinical and research efforts and increase awareness of CRF in lung cancer survivors.
