Anti-inflammatory medicine might work well in Alzheimer's treatment: Study

The study explored the p38 protein as a potential drug target for Alzheimer's. By reducing p38 in brain immune cells called microglia, the team observed a decrease in amyloid plaque-associated microglia. This finding suggests that early inhibition of p38 could impact the progression of Alzheimer's pathology. P38 inhibitors, already in clinical development, have shown positive results in recent human trials.
