The study analyzed 83 patients with fracture-related infections (FRI) in the proximal femur, treated with antibiotic-loaded bone cement (ALBC) and a locking plate. After a median follow-up of 36 months, infection-free bone union was achieved in all cases, with significant functional improvement (Harris Hip Score increase). Prolonged infection duration and comorbidities were associated with additional revisions, highlighting the challenges in FRI treatment.
