This study investigates outcomes of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) explantation, comparing aortic valve replacement (AVR) with root replacement. Analyzing data from the EXPLANT-TAVR International Registry, the study finds that despite distinct patient characteristics, both groups exhibit similar short-term mortality and morbidity rates. The findings underscore the need for continued research to identify factors influencing the necessity of root replacement after TAVR explantation. The study provides valuable insights into optimizing patient outcomes post-TAVR procedures.
