Apical patency (AP) in rats treated with Zoledronic Acid (ZA) or Denosumab (DMAB) did not cause osteonecrosis of the jaw. While no clinical signs of osteonecrosis were observed, significant changes in bone microarchitecture were seen, especially in the ZA-AP group, which showed lower bone volume and mineral density compared to the ZA group. However, these changes were not linked to osteonecrosis. Apical patency did not impact bone integrity in the DMAB groups.
