A recent double-blind, randomized clinical study with 154 acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients investigated the efficacy of aromatherapy on anxiety and hemodynamic indices. Participants were divided into intervention and placebo groups. The intervention group inhaled chamomile essential oil, while the placebo group inhaled sesame oil. Results revealed significantly lower anxiety scores, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and heart rate in the intervention group. Aromatherapy, specifically with chamomile essential oil, demonstrated potential in reducing anxiety and improving hemodynamic indices in ACS patients.
