Arrhythmia and Death Following Percutaneous Revascularization in Ischemic Left Ventricular Dysfunction

A study conducted from August 2013 to March 2020 divided 700 patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction and coronary disease into groups receiving percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with medical and device therapy or medical therapy alone (OMT). The study aimed to assess the effect of PCI on reducing all-cause death or aborted sudden death. The results revealed no significant difference between the groups regarding this composite primary outcome or secondary outcomes like cardiovascular death or sustained ventricular arrhythmia. Consequently, the study concludes that PCI does not reduce mortality or sudden death in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy.
